Day 1: Choosing a Niche and Creating Social Media Pages

The first step in affiliate marketing is to choose a niche. There are plenty of options like cooking, finance, fitness, and self-development. I decided to focus on the business niche, as it is known to generate good income. With my niche decided, I created theme pages on TikTok and Pinterest to promote my affiliate links.

To find affiliate links, I explored websites like impact.com and clickbank.com. These platforms offer a wide range of affiliate programs. After signing up and getting approved on impact.com, I found the Robinhood and Shopify affiliate programs. Robinhood offered $ 5 for every user sign-up, plus an additional $ 20 for a deposit. Shopify paid $ 150 for every user who paid for their first month after the free trial. I applied for both and waited for approval.

Though I was still waiting for approval from the Shopify affiliate program, I decided to start advertising the links I already had. I used Linktree to showcase all my affiliate links in my social media bios. On TikTok, I searched for viral videos in the business and money motivation category. I saved them and downloaded them from Snaptick.app without a watermark. These videos would form my content for promoting affiliate links.

Day 4-7: Posting Videos and Growing Social Media Accounts

I aimed to post 2-4 videos daily on TikTok and Pinterest. TikTok required a minimum of 1000 followers to include a link in the bio, so I focused on reaching that goal as quickly as possible. By ensuring my initial videos were viral-worthy and reposting already successful content, I managed to reach a thousand followers within 24 hours. I then added my linktree to the TikTok bio.

Results and Earnings

Over the course of nine days, I received 21 sign-ups for the Shopify free trial and six for Robinhood. Since no one signed up using the Coinbase or ClickBank affiliate links, I only made commissions from Robinhood. This amounted to $ 30, with the potential to earn an additional $ 20 for every user who deposits funds. From Shopify, assuming 30% of the sign-ups pay for the first month after the trial, I could earn around $ 900.
