Hi everybody, my name is Jesse, and I do perfume reviews in an ASMR format. If you enjoy perfumes and also love ASMR, you're in a great place for today’s video.
Today, I am going to review Aerin's discontinued fragrance, Linen Rose Eau de Cologne. The bottle is large, at 6.7 fluid ounces, and I am unsure if the brand made a smaller size apart from a travel version. I purchased it about a year ago for around $ 65 online, so you may still be able to find it, although it might be more challenging now.
Being an Eau de Cologne concentration, Linen Rose is lighter compared to Eau de Parfum or Eau de Toilette. This likely explains the larger bottle size, accommodating the idea that you might use more of it. However, it doesn’t have the best longevity, in my experience.
Linen Rose is a delightful blend of rose, coconut, and vanilla that suits the transition into summer well. It is a tropical fragrance but avoids the overly “sunscreen” scent that some coconut perfumes have. While it does include coconut, it’s subtle and refined, providing a tropical vibe without being overpoweringly sweet or synthetic.
I do appreciate the bottle design, featuring a magnetic cap for ease of use, although I prefer smaller bottles. Selling decants of this large bottle would be a practical solution due to its size.
When sprayed, Linen Rose delivers an initial impression reminiscent of fresh white linens on a beachside vacation. Additionally, the fragrance incorporates a gentle touch of sea salt and marine notes, which enhances the summery, seaside vibe.
Here are the main accords listed on Fragrantica:
Top Notes:
These top notes provide a fresh and slightly salty essence, though I don’t detect much Orange Blossom.
Middle Notes:
This layer brings out a more nuanced coconut scent paired with rose.
Base Notes:
The base adds warmth but is less prominent compared to the floral and coconut notes.
I attempted to dress on theme with a linen-colored shirt, tying into the 'Linen Rose' name, although I forgot to wear earrings due to my recent move. My new office lighting isn’t ideal yet, but I’m working to improve it.
Although I don’t have other Aerin fragrances in full bottles, I do have samples. 'Amber Musk' and 'Mediterranean Honeysuckle' are part of my collection, the latter being especially refreshing with notes of honeysuckle, other white florals, and citrus. Both are ideal for summer, with Amber Musk offering a cozy, autumnal touch of luxury.
Linen Rose was launched in 2017 and has an overall rating of 4.04 out of 5 on Fragrantica, based on 76 votes. Opinions vary, but many users appreciate its light, fresh, and non-overpowering floral qualities. Others find the coconut note unappealing, though the sea-side blend garners more favorable comparisons.
Here's a succinct user review from Fragrantica:
Linen Rose is predominantly feminine with mid-range longevity and more intimate sillage.
In conclusion, Linen Rose by Aerin is a beautifully light, rose-coconut perfume ideal for summer, offering a warm and inviting aura. Despite its discontinuation, hunting down a bottle might just be worth it if you’re a fan of gentle, beachy florals.
Sending you all peace, love, harmony, and beauty. Catch you in another review soon!
