Hi everyone! It looks like the first video I did about some of the different men's products that I enjoy was thoroughly popular and seemed like a lot of people might be interested in that. So, I decided to go ahead and make a second one. Particularly after today’s little Memorial Day weekend shopping trip—I didn’t buy many things today, but I did get to stop by the L'Occitane store and got myself a couple of things.
We're going to go ahead and start on the right side of this little group here. You can see where I left off on the last video; I did a lot of products specifically for facial care. I don’t think I got to show you all the things I use, so I figured I would go through a few of them.
One of them is actually from L'Occitane. The problem is that I’m not sure if they make it or carry it in their stores anymore because I have not been able to keep using this. This face scrub has a really nice scent to it—the Juniper kind of smell—but it’s also an exfoliant and has a nice texture to it. If I can get some more of this, I’ll be able to start using it more often again.
Another facial scrub I use is from Jack Black. It’s essentially creamy but has a little grit in it to help get rid of all the dead skin. It also has a nice menthol finish, making your face feel really cool afterward. I use this one every once in a while.
From the grocery store, I usually buy Biore products. This warming anti-blackhead cleanser also contains salicylic acid. When you apply it, it immediately gets very warm, almost hot. I use it on sections of my skin that tend to get broken out or sun-damaged. This product has worked well for me for more than ten years.
My lady got me into using the Clarisonic face scrubber. Initially, I was skeptical, but I've warmed up to it over time. It has beeps to let you know how long to use it, sort of like a battery-operated toothbrush. Two-minute segments divide so you can cover your entire face. I use this on particularly grungy days.
I also have a little grooming kit. It keeps all the implements together—nail pick, nail file, tweezers, and nail clippers. I had a mini pocket knife in this kit, but it got confiscated at the airport.
For shampoos, I’m using one that my lady introduced me to. It’s a basic daily shampoo with a peppermint scent. It does a good job keeping my hair from getting too dry and frizzy. This shampoo comes with a conditioner.
I also like to use American Crew products; they work nicely and smell good. One of their main products that I enjoy is a hair gel.
I sometimes use a body wash listed among my hair products, essentially similar to a shampoo. It has aloe vera and vitamin B5 and comes from Bath and Body Works. It’s a nice smelling soap that leaves my skin feeling clean.
This winter, I had terribly dry skin affecting my scalp, so I bought Head and Shoulders for the first time. It stopped the scalp itching. If you have dry scalp issues, especially in winter, give it a shot. During humid months, it might make your hair too heavy.
I picked up some samples. The body wash version of the face scrub, a shaving gel with a lavender base but a sharp spicy scent, and a few other items. The gel is particularly nice if creams make your skin break out.
That’s about it for this segment. I hope you enjoyed this as much as the first one. Perhaps I’ll do another one if I find more products to share.
I recommend facial scrubs from L'Occitane, Jack Black, and Biore for their different textures and effectiveness.
Yes, a Clarisonic face scrubber can be very effective in thoroughly cleaning your face. It beeps to guide you on how long to scrub each section of your face.
A separate grooming kit helps keep all your implements organized, including nail files, tweezers, and clippers.
Men's shampoos often have similar basic ingredients but may include scents and formulations geared toward male preferences. For example, some have peppermint scents and specialized conditioning properties.
Head and Shoulders shampoo is effective for combating dry scalp issues in winter.
Some body washes and shampoos are similar in their chemical makeup and can be used interchangeably, although they are often marketed differently.
Feel free to leave questions or comments, and I’ll try to get back to you!
