Crash Then Ride 121 Miles?: Philodo AWD Ebike Adventure

    blog thumbnail

    Introduction

Well, hello everybody! Good morning, afternoon, or evening, wherever you are. It's morning here as I get ready for my ride. Today, let's get down there and get going. Here's what I'm riding today, at least for the trip down to the shop.

This is the bike I'm riding today. As you can see, I've got my extra battery strapped onto the bottle cage. I even have a part coming to secure it better, which I'll show you once I get it. I've got my 62-chain ring and my Freewheel on here, and my short cranks, which I shortened to 140mm. Those changes have made a world of difference. I've also put on an SI belt, which seems to have really helped.

Yesterday, I couldn't ride because it rained all day. So today, I hope to make up for the lost time. The bike showed a power error when I first turned it on, but hopefully, that was just a fluke. Starting with 5251 miles, let's get going.

    ... (crash scene description)

Not how I want to start my day, but hopefully, I'll be alright. The injury burns, but it could have been worse. Maybe it knocked my back back in line or something. My 360 camera seems fine even though my selfie stick broke. Luckily, I had another one handy.

This bike is well balanced when it comes from the factory. Adding extra stuff on it, especially an extra battery, makes it top-heavy. Not recommended for off-road rides with the extra battery on top.

My wife remarked that maybe something got knocked around with my back, making it turn out for good. So, let's look on the bright side.

... (more description about the ride and road conditions)

I do love these back roads. Sometimes I speed down a busy road, but it’s the only way to get to where I’m going. I was originally planning to ride many more miles today, but the late start put a bit of a damper on that. We'll see how I feel as the ride continues.

One of my most favorite roads is just an old country road running through the forest, provided there's no mud on the bottom. These roads always bring a sense of peace and tranquility.

I’m at 67.4 miles into this ride. I always feel blessed to have such beautiful roads to ride.

... (talk about historical significance, dogs, and other riders)

Looks like the road can get dicey with water flooding it and materials from mown fields covering it.

I made the battery switch after about 50 miles. With the new battery, I can finish the rest of my planned ride. My back is hurting a bit, but that’s nothing new.

After another stretch, I've ridden 121 miles for the day. Despite the crash and the rough conditions, I’ve managed the entire ride without major issues. Always better to ride smart and avoid aggressive turns on wet gravel.

Thanks for riding with me today. Seeking to hit 15,000 miles, even if it’s at the cost of a few bruises.
