Day 1 of Making Jurassic Park Renders

For the first day of creating Jurassic Park renders, I aimed to keep things simple by starting small. After gathering all my references, I created a small beach ground as the setting. This initial stage also involved importing a Compsognathus (compy) model that I had downloaded a while ago.

The compy model needed some adjustments; therefore, I fixed its textures and later added more skin detail for a realistic appearance. To enhance the background, I utilized foliage from a free Botanic add-on, and for the foreground, I filled it with rocks and added elements of foaming water. While doing so, I considered how these objects would interact naturally and where the foam would realistically adhere.

To create a more immersive scene, I placed an image of the sky on a plane as the background. Noticing that the compy’s initial pose seemed unnatural, I swiftly created a rig that allowed me to reposition the compy into a more lifelike meerkat-like stance. I also added a second compy to depict their habitual group travel.
