Hermitcraft 10: Drowned & The Skeletors! (Ep. 28)

    Welcome Back to Hermitcraft!

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Hermitcraft! Today, we find ourselves high above the Labyrinth, starting to place glass. To be honest, I'm tired of dealing with the snow down there. If we zoom in with the spyglass, you can see a checkerboard pattern of sadness. To prevent more snow from falling, we need to install an insane amount of glass. I've started creating a shadow image of the Labyrinth above it with glass, placing about five to six shulker boxes worth already, but there's still more to go. We have a ton of sand and glass smelting up, thanks to buying out all the glass and sand on the server.

In-between glass placing, let me tell you about the Hermitcraft TCG Series 2 Ultra Ego Set, available now on cocard.com through July 31st. If you follow me on social media, you might have seen some of these cards. The set includes common Cub balance types, a rare Cub speedrunner type, and two exclusive cards: the common jingler card and the rare Alter Ego jingler. They showcase my builds and activities from various Hermitcraft seasons, and I can't thank our artist enough for their amazing work.

Glass Placement and The Labyrinth Decor

The glass is finally down, and now we can clearly see the Labyrinth below without fearing snow interference. Additionally, we've decorated the ravager pens, creating themes like the cold forest and desert. The pens include details like branches broken by ravagers, fossils, dead bushes, and even a ravager poop corner.

In the Labyrinth, we have new rooms like the Room of a Thousand Eyes, filled with ominous banners, skulls, and menacing traps. We also started moving skeletons into the maze. Currently, there's Indiana Bones, Marrowlin, Napoleon Bonapart, Bones McGee, and Captain Jack Morrow. Each one has been named and given special punch bows for added challenge as players navigate the maze.

    Testing and Adjustments

After moving skeletons, we tested parkour and other elements. Throughout several attempts, we tweaked the difficulty level to ensure it’s challenging yet doable. Additional touches included setting up checkpoint beds and placing food around the maze, making the runs less frustrating for players. Now, the final completion of the Labyrinth involves moving stronger mobs like skeletons with enchanted bows and a trident-throwing drown.

    Transporting Two-eyed Millie

Finalizing the labyrinth involved capturing elusive drowns for an additional challenge. Unable to find them locally, we headed to Etho’s base where he sorts Trident-throwing drowns. After capturing a suitable candidate, Two-eyed Millie, I coordinated a rail transport through different biomes and portals, overcoming various obstacles. Eventually, Millie was secured into the maze, adding the final touch of dynamic difficulty.

    Conclusion

With these additions and final touches, the Labyrinth is now a complex, engaging challenge filled with diverse obstacles, themed rooms, and challenging enemies. We finished with installing the drowned guard mechanism, ensuring players have a dramatic and dynamic experience from the beginning to the end of the maze.
