Introduction

A clear cool night, filled with an undisturbed tranquility, found me engrossed in reading. However, the deep ponderings of man did not grant me solace. I raised the curtain and gazed at the Moon, resplendent in its clear and silvery glow, brushing some of the unrest out of my mind.

I am well-versed in the myriad theories surrounding the Moon. There have been epochs when scientific symbolism has stripped some of the Moon’s mystery and allure from me. Yet, no one can fully explain the Moon any more than a grasshopper can explain me.

In my youth, I projected grand promises onto the Moon, yet with the passage of time, I have come to understand that my disillusionment was never the Moon’s fault. The Moon, enigmatic yet familiar, and I share a bond as wanderers traversing the night sky.
