My watch hours were severely lacking, so I monitored my content's performance carefully, doubling down on what's working. Anti-scam commentary videos performed significantly better than business content, so I focused on both. My channel gained significant traction when I covered the Jessie Lee Ward Columbia trip. By February 2023, I had 1,000 subscribers and began working toward the required watch hours. By doubling down on content, posting daily, I quickly reached my milestones.
Monetization Process
Upon meeting the requirements, I applied for the YouTube Partner Program and got approved quickly. As a partner, you can earn through AdSense, Super Chats, Super Thanks, Channel Memberships, and merchandise sales. Creators can also choose where ads appear in their videos. Payments are made monthly once you reach the payout threshold—in my case, 100 Canadian dollars.
