I've been traveling for the last two and a half years, constantly moving from country to country. In this lifestyle, you need a reliable partner, and in this case, Level Eight comes to the picture. Durability

When you’re like me and pack every single day to move from one place to another, you need reliable luggage.

    The 360 Wheels

The 360-degree wheels help tremendously while traveling, especially at airports. No matter how much weight you have inside, it feels like the luggage is just floating in the air.

    Amount of Space

Level Eight luggage has excellent space due to its unique handle placement. Handles are located on the sides to create much more space in the middle of the luggage, unlike other average suitcases.

    Exploring Istanbul Airport

    Istanbul Airport Overview

Guys, very good morning! Welcome to Istanbul Airport. I am flying to Romania today, to Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. I wanted to show you around Istanbul Airport. I have only about 10-15 minutes to do so. This is the largest airport in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. You can see how massive, colorful, and beautiful it is.

    Shops and Services

There are many different luxurious shops and more near the gates where you can grab some souvenirs from Istanbul. They have created an area reminiscent of an old bazaar, aptly named "Old Bazaar," where you can buy Turkish delights, jewelry, and other souvenirs. Several food sections offer various options from local food courts to fast food chains.

    Practical Tips

As with any other airport, prices are higher than in the city center. Ensure you arrive on time, at least 3-4 hours before your flight, as the security lines can be long. As the tour continues, you'll notice more shops and restaurants in the airport terminal.

    Onward to Bucharest, Romania

    Arrival at Henri Coandă Airport

Finally made it to Romania, officially my 42nd country! I am excited to explore Romania and take you along on this journey. There are a few ways to get from the airport to the city center, including taxis and trains. I opted for the train, which takes you directly from the airport to the city center for a very affordable price.

    Bucharest North Railway Station

The train station, Gara de Nord, is where you'll arrive. The station is big and filled with hustle and bustle. Unlike many European countries, Bucharest has a well-structured public transportation system connecting the airport to the city center affordably. I recommend taking advantage of this system rather than opting for a taxi.

    Taking the Metro

I found that there is a convenient metro connected directly to the train station. For 3 Lei, approximately 65 American cents, you can take the metro to the University station, which is near the old town. This public transport system is incredibly efficient and affordable, allowing you to transport easily from the airport to the city center.

    First Impressions of Bucharest

    The Old Town

My first impressions of Bucharest's Old Town were notable. It appeared very quiet, possibly because of the heat. The architecture is ancient and picturesque, filled with historic buildings and quiet streets.

    Transportation

I appreciate the affordability and efficiency of Bucharest's public transportation. For less than 2 American dollars, you can travel from the international airport to your hotel in the city center, which is impressive.

A Unique Stay at Marmaros Hotel

    The Hotel's Background

Before I arrived at my hotel, I discovered that the Marmaros Hotel used to be a bank and was transformed into a five-star hotel a few years ago. This classic building retains many features from its banking days, making it a unique place to stay.

Hotel Tour: Café, Restaurant, and Bar

The Café and Restaurant are located where customers filled out paperwork in the past. It retains many of its original features, including desks and even an old guillotine paper cutter.

    The Bank Vault Bar

One of the most exciting parts of this hotel is its bar, located in the old bank vault. The bar area retains the safety deposit boxes customers used to store valuables in. You can even open some of these boxes while enjoying a drink.

    Additional Features

The hotel also offers other amenities, such as a gym. I was particularly impressed with the old furniture and the architecture, which remain unchanged from when it was a functioning bank.

Conclusion and Thoughts on the Room

    The Room and Its Features

I was upgraded to a deluxe room, which typically costs around 320 American dollars a night. The room maintains a modern design and includes basic amenities like a TV, workspace, and tea section. The bathroom features marble flooring and is exceptionally clean.

    Balcony Views

The view from the room overlooks the picturesque but slightly run-down streets of Bucharest. Even though you can't open the balcony door for safety reasons, the view from the top is sprawling.

    Overall Impressions

I appreciate the hotel's unique blend of modern amenities and historic charm. This combination provided a genuinely unparalleled experience during my first night in Romania.
