I Replaced My Therapist With AI
People & Blogs
Introduction
I went from spending $ 400 a month in therapy to now only spending $ 90 a month. My therapist is artificial intelligence. I was diagnosed with depression when I was 17 years old; that's when I went into therapy for the first time. Therapy is so great, but unfortunately, it isn't that accessible to a lot of people. Many people feel that they just can't budget for it.
I considered using ChatGPT and actually asking it the questions I usually ask my therapist, to see the kind of responses I would get. I was in awe of how well I think it handled the issues and problems I brought to it. There are definitely limitations. An AI bot might not recognize the severity of someone's mental health condition.
I still go to therapy once a month, but I cut back significantly. I hope there's always help available, and asking for it is a testament to strength, not weakness.
