I turned my voice into Undertale Characters (AI Voice Changer)

Introduction

Introduction

Last time on this channel, we used AI to turn my voice into a bunch of Friday Night Funkin' characters. This time, let's do the same thing but with Undertale! I love the idea of using AI to bring life to these characters that have never really had spoken voice lines. Like, they have voices through their beeps and boops, but what if we actually heard Sans saying those lines? It’s going to sound ridiculous, but it's worth trying.

The Process

Just like before, I've pulled up RVC, a voice training software, and loaded a bunch of samples from the game into this program. All that's left to do is record some audio, run it through it, and see what happens.

Experimenting with Voices

Let's start with Sans:

  • Testing one, two, three. I'm so scared to push this button and see what happens.
  • Testing one, two, three. That's not bad!

Next, let's see if Papyrus's voice sounds any different with the same vocal sample:

  • Testing one, two, three. Oh, that is really different!

So, what would it sound like if we actually voiced a conversation between Sans and Papyrus? Let’s pick their first scene from Undertale and voice it with their actual voices:

Sans: What's up, bro? Papyrus: You know what's up, brother. It's been eight days, and you still haven't recalibrated your puzzles! You just hang around outside your station. What are you even doing? Sans: Staring at this lamp. It's really cool. Do you want to look? Papyrus: No, I don't have time for that! What if a human comes through here? I want to be ready. I will be the one. I must be the one! I will capture a human. Then I, the great Papyrus, will get all the things I utterly deserve: respect, recognition. I will finally be able to join the Royal Guard! People will ask to be my friend. I will bathe in a shower of kisses every morning. Sans: Maybe this lamp will help you? Papyrus: Sans! You are not helping, you lazy bones! All you do is sit and boondoggle. You get lazier and lazier every day! Sans: Hey, take it easy; I've gotten a ton of work done today—a skeleton. Papyrus: (Groans) Sans, come on, you're smiling. Sans: I am, and I hate it. (Sighs) Why does someone as great as me have to do so much just to get some recognition? Papyrus: It sounds like you're really working yourself down to the bone! Sans: I will attend to my puzzles. As for your work, put a little more backbone into it! (Laughs) Narrator: Okay, you can come out now. You gotta get going; he might come back, and if he does, you’ll have to sit through more of my hilarious jokes.

That was absolute chaos!

Mettaton's Voice

There's one more character I trained a voice on, and I have no idea how this is going to go: Mettaton. Mettaton isn't even really a vocal sample; he's just a noise blast from an NES sound chip. So let's pick his line: "Oh boy, I can already tell it's gonna be a great show."

  • Deliver this as Mettaton: "Oh boy, I can already tell it's gonna be a great show."

Okay, let's see what happens:

  • Mettaton AI: "Oh boy, I can already tell it's gonna be a great show."

That's not bad! I have these set on a pretty low-intensity setting, leaving a lot of my voice in there. Here’s a better AI trained sample:

  • Mettaton Re-trained AI: "Oh boy, I can already tell it's gonna be a great show."

I think that’s really good. So let's voice a scene as Mettaton now:

Mettaton: "Oh yes! Welcome, beauties, to today's quiz show! Oh boy, I can already tell it's gonna be a great show. Everyone, give a big hand for our wonderful contestant! Never played before, gorgeous? No problem, it's simple. There's only one rule: answer correctly."

As always, the results were absolute chaos and nonsense. Are there other games you’d like me to try this out with, or songs or music videos you’d like to see my reaction to? Leave them down in the comments below, and we’ll try them out. Be sure to subscribe for more videos like this one, posted every week.
