Mommy's Favorite Date EVER with Daughter

People & Blogs

Introduction

Today was the perfect and relaxing day for us! With summer winding down, we decided to have a fun, spa-themed day as a special treat. Lea, my first-grade daughter, was feeling under the weather with a fever, so I thought a pampering day would lift her spirits. With only two days left of summer, we felt it was essential to do something nice together.

Morning Routine
Lea kicked off the day with a breathing treatment since she was feeling a bit sick. She hinted at wanting pancakes for breakfast, so I whipped those up while we planned our day. Once she finished her pancakes, Lea darted off to get dressed, excited for our spa day. I have been using the award-winning hair care system, Lola V, founded by Jennifer Aniston, which I truly love!

Hair Care Treatments
Both of us really needed to wash our hair, especially after all the chlorine from our summer outings. I mentioned using Lola V’s intensive repair treatment to help with the damage from the pool, sun, and a recent Brazilian blowout I had, which unfortunately worsened my hair condition. First, we started with Lola's restorative shampoo, followed by the intensive repair treatment, which is fantastic for damaged ends and helps prevent future splitting. We decided to add some fun to the process by pretending we were at a salon, and I enlisted Dad to help with Lea's hair!

Lola V's proprietary Bond technology, known as biomimetic peptide Pro 3, has made significant improvements in my hair's health. Derived from chia seeds, it strengthens hair and protects it against environmental damage.

Midday Activities
After a brief wash and treatment session, I switched my focus back to lesson planning for school. Lea noted she was craving some cheesy crackers, so I experimented by making cheese crackers in the oven. Sadly, Angie woke up from her nap feeling miserable with a 101-degree fever. I gave her some Tylenol, hoping it would help her feel better.

Nail Painting and Fall Festivities
With Lea feeling better, we moved on to our nail painting session. Although I knew the polish wouldn’t last long, it was about having fun together. On a spontaneous trip to Target, we aimed to find face masks for our spa day but ended up on a pumpkin quest instead! Unfortunately, we couldn't find real pumpkins, but we discovered some interesting fake ones at Lowe's.

When we got back home, we carved the faux pumpkin. Although it was messier than expected, it was fun to have a little craft time and usher in the fall spirit together. We lit a tealight inside the carved pumpkin, and even though it was daytime, it looked cute!

Evening Wrap-Up
As the day wound down, we sat together with Angie, who finally seemed to be feeling a bit better. With a satisfied heart, I announced that we would have a simple dinner and call it a night. I want to thank Lola V for sponsoring our video and this delightful day. If you're interested, you can use the promo code "heymama15" to get 15% off your order at lola.com.
