The officer then directs, "Step over here; it's time for your mug shot. You need to take that head scarf off."

However, the individual resists: "No, I'm not taking it off."

"It's our policy. Just take it off so we can take your mug shot," the officer insists.

The individual stands firm: "No, just because you don't respect my religion doesn't mean I'm going to disrespect it. Just take a picture with it on. You can see my face; just leave it on."
