So I played Astro Bot…
Science & Technology
Introduction
Having spent a week immersed in the world of the new Astro Bot game, I can confidently say that this is the most fun I've experienced playing a game in years. The game has revived what I fondly remember as the glory days of PlayStation, filled with nostalgia thanks to its numerous references to iconic characters and well-hidden Easter eggs.
The levels are incredibly well-designed and spread across multiple galaxies, each boasting its own unique style. Among these, my personal favorite was the Horizon level, which stood out for its creativity and engaging gameplay. While most levels are relatively easy, there are certainly some challenges to keep players on their toes. Completing the main story took me about 12 hours, while unlocking the platinum trophy extended my gameplay to around 25 hours.
One standout feature is the photo mode, which allows players to capture memorable moments within the game. However, you won't gain access to the camera right away; you need to collect enough puzzle pieces first to unlock it. Speaking of collectibles, the game tasks you with finding 300 unique Bots. While many of them are generic, there are also some intriguing VIP characters that add a fun twist to the collection process. Collecting these Bots is crucial, as they unlock new levels and areas to explore.
Throughout the game, I tended to stick with a generic outfit, but players have the option to change their appearance in the changing room. Excitingly, one of the potential outfits is inspired by PaRappa the Rapper, which brought a delightful touch of nostalgia.
Overall, my experience with Astro Bot has been nothing short of spectacular, and I would rate it a solid 10 out of 10. I'm already eager to play through it all over again!
