Squishy Makeovers: Fixing Your Squishies #19

Entertainment

Introduction

Hey, it's me! I waved with my left hand that time. Today is another squishy makeover video! I've done this once or twice before—oh wait, this is episode 19.

So, what do I do here? I fix, repair, and decorate discarded squishies that have been sent to me from my viewers. I am the public squishy trash can. Usually, I let you guys choose which squishies get makeovers because I unbox all of these on camera and then go through the comments. But this time, I didn't even consult the comments; I just picked out ones that I felt like doing. Sorry.

Here they are—they're already completed. That’s why you're looking at a blur right now. Not blurring obscenities, just squishies. Let me just put them away. I ended up selecting three different squishies to work on today, so let's get into it.

Squishy #1: The Little Polar Bear

I'm starting with this one, a small squishy that's cheaply made, sporting a super lazy design with a spray of green paint and a very lopsided face. It's got a few rips and stains, and I thought of naming it Nat. Where did that name come from? Who knows. First, I trimmed the edges and removed any messy seams. It was especially messy between the legs. Then, I removed a little pin from its head and stuffed some foam into the head hole, filling the rest with puffy paint.

I repositioned the head to go with the lopsided face, making sure the head aligns with the face tilt. After some struggles, I created little earmuff accessories for Nat by shaping memory foam and painting it. I then painted everything in a fresh white matte fabric paint mixture and added new facial details. This is Nat, the latest member of the polar bear family, joining Alfred and Marlo. Even though Nat has a hard time standing up, I think the makeover is a success.

Product Break: Pickle the Dinosaur Plush Returns

Before we move on, I want to thank you all for being enthusiastic about my products. Because of the high demand, I’m bringing back Pickle the Dinosaur, the plush! The pre-order is open until January 30th and this is international with some shipping restrictions. These plushies will start shipping out by March 15th. If you want one for Christmas, we have a printable placeholder you can use as a gift.

Squishy #2: The Grateful Monkey

Next, I'm working on a big monkey squishy. It's cute but has some odd repairs done to it. I sanded it down and ended up removing the unfinished glue patches. Initially, I didn't want to repaint it brown but tried a light purple. However, I didn't like it and reverted to a darker brown. This monkey also lacked a tail, which I chose not to add.

I glued a ripped cupcake squishy to the monkey’s feet, creating the look of her holding a cupcake. I then added a ridiculously large bow squishy to her head, even though it may look over-the-top to some. After painting all the details meticulously, I completed the makeover. Despite the oversized bow, I love how she turned out.

Squishy #3: The Game Boy

Lastly, I'm customizing a Game Boy squishy, which is unique and special. I started by sanding off its face and repainting it with a green gradient. The face on the screen now features Georgie, my pineapple duck character. I added some finishing touches like metallic edges on the buttons to give them more dimension. The end result is a vibrant, character-filled Game Boy that’s much more interesting than before.
