Introduction

Hey everyone, this is Lenny Bonds from Nokia Innovation. I'm excited to share with you one of the new apps added to the Lumia 1020—it's a pretty handy app called Video Trimmer. This is something we've been eagerly waiting for since Windows Phones never had a dedicated video editing system or application.

First, let me show you how it works. If you open your Photos and go into your Camera Roll, you'll see a video you’ve made. For this demonstration, I've chosen a short and sweet video. On Windows Phone, tapping the three dots will reveal an Edit button. Press this, and if you have the application loaded on your phone, you'll automatically be prompted to open Nokia Video Trimmer. Here's how it works:

1. Play your video.
2. Move the two dots to select the segment you want to edit.
3. Press the play button to preview the trimmed segment.
4. Save your edited video, which will now appear in your Pictures as a new, shorter video.

In my example, the edited video is only five seconds long. It's that simple!

But wait, there's more. Next to these features, the Lumia 1020 includes an automatic upload button for YouTube. When you press this button, it will ask if you want to share your video. Once you select YouTube Upload, and if your account is set up, the video will start uploading automatically.

These two features—video trimming and automatic YouTube upload—are significant additions to the Windows Phone ecosystem that we've been asking for.
