Opening Thanks

Thank you very much. Thank you very, very much. Wow, and thank you, Dana. Thank you, Kid Rock, sometimes referred to as Bob. And thank you, Lee. Right from the beginning, what a talent, what a beautiful soul. Thank you, friends, delegates, and fellow citizens.

Message of Confidence, Strength, and Hope

I stand before you this evening with a message of confidence, strength, and hope. Four months from now, we will have an incredible victory, and we will begin the four greatest years in the history of our country. Together, we will launch a new era of safety, prosperity, and freedom for citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed. The discord and division in our society must be healed quickly as Americans. We rise together, or we fall apart. I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America because there is no victory in winning for half of America.

So tonight, with faith and devotion, I proudly accept your nomination for President of the United States. Thank you very much.

The Assassination Attempt

Let me begin this evening by expressing my gratitude to the American people for your outpouring of love and support following the assassination attempt at my rally on Saturday. The assassin's bullet came within a quarter of an inch of taking my life. Many people have asked me what happened, and I will tell you exactly what happened, but you'll never hear it from me a second time because it's too painful to tell.

Recalling the Incident

It was a warm, beautiful day in the early evening in Butler Township in Pennsylvania. Music was loudly playing, the campaign was doing really well. I went to the stage, the crowd was cheering wildly, everyone was happy. I began speaking very strongly, powerfully, and happily, discussing the great job my administration did on immigration at the southern border. Behind me and to the right was a large screen displaying a chart of border crossings under my leadership. I started to turn to my right and was ready to begin a little further turn, which I am very lucky I didn’t do when I heard a loud whizzing sound and felt something hit me really hard on my right ear.

The Crowd's Reaction

The amazing thing is that after the shot, this massive crowd of tens of thousands of people stood by bravely. Nobody ran, saving many lives by not stampeding. The crowd knew I was in serious trouble and didn't want to leave me. The Secret Service agents rushed to the stage and pounced on top of me to protect me, even as bullets continued to fly. I felt very safe because I had God on my side.

The Aftermath

Our Secret Service sniper took the assassin's life from a much greater distance with just one bullet. I stand before you in this arena by the grace of Almighty God. When I rose surrounded by Secret Service, the crowd thought I was dead. They didn’t know I was looking out and saw their sorrowful faces. I wanted to assure them, so I raised my right arm and started shouting, “Fight, fight, fight.”

Tragic Loss

Tragically, the shooter claimed the life of Corey Compton, an unbelievable person and former fire chief, while seriously wounding two other great warriors, David Dutch and James Copenhaver. I also called all three families and assured them they are in our prayers always.

Unity and Resolve

Despite such a heinous attack, we unite this evening more determined than ever. Our resolve is unbroken, and our purpose is to deliver a government that serves the American people better than ever before. I will never stop fighting for you, your family, and our magnificent country.

Election Vision

This election should be about the issues facing our country and how to make America successful, safe, free, and great again. We must not criminalize dissent or demonize political disagreement. Democrats should stop weaponizing the justice system and labeling their political opponents as enemies of democracy.

Family Support

On this journey, I am honored to be joined by my amazing wife Melania, my children, and my entire family. Their support and unity are sources of great strength and inspiration.

Government Vision

With a Republican House and Senate, and my leadership in the White House, we will swiftly implement our agenda for America's renewal. This includes economic relief, energy independence, and restoring Law and Order. We will deliver a government that is better than ever before, turning around our nation quickly.

Economic and Social Initiatives

We will decrease inflation, bring down energy costs, secure our borders, and address immigration. We will pursue tax cuts, reduce wasteful spending, and emphasize domestic manufacturing. The illegal immigration crisis will end, and we will restore peace and stability globally.

National Security

Our military will be replenished, and we will build an iron dome missile defense system entirely in the USA. This will ensure no enemy can strike our homeland. We will innovate and find cures for diseases like cancer and Alzheimer's.

Civic and Social Goals

We will restore our cities, ending unsafe conditions, and promote a new golden age for America. Together, we will save this country, restore the Republic, and make America's future bigger, better, bolder, brighter, happier, stronger, freer, greater, and more united than ever before.
