What Happens If You Click On a Scam Roblox Link?

Introduction
Every second, someone is getting their Roblox account hacked primarily by clicking on fake Roblox links. Many assume that due to Roblox’s strict moderation, these phishing links only exist outside of the Roblox site, but this is not the case. I personally fell for one of these scams and my first Roblox account was hacked. Now, I want to investigate further by actually clicking on these links to see what truly happens. Will I get hacked, or will nothing happen? Let’s find out.
The Experiment
To protect my main account, I created a burner Roblox account for this investigation. I started by searching for phishing links within Roblox groups. It is surprising how many scams appear when you type “Roblox” and browse through the groups.
I came across a group with a suspicious link to a game titled “Bobby Cave with Exclusive Rewards.” Once I joined the game, it was designed like a typical obby (obstacle course game) but with a twist at the end, where they tried to get me to enter my password for verification. Of course, upon attempting to verify, I was kicked out of the experience.
Continuing the investigation, I found another group with the game content deleted, yet still promising free rewards. Despite the variation in presentation, the end goal was the same: to trick users into entering their login credentials.
Creating a Fake Phishing Game
Rather than just clicking these links, I decided to create a fake phishing game and advertise it in similar groups. The game was named “Misery Rewards,” and it was designed to scare and teach players a lesson about the dangers of clicking random links that promise free rewards.
I placed hellish imagery and dead bodies at the spawn point to symbolize the consequences of falling for these scams, even though I kept the tone light-hearted. Despite the warning signs, players were eager to “earn Robux,” showing just how convincing these scam games can be.
Conclusion
Through this experiment, it's evident why so many people get hacked on Roblox. Scams are rampant, and the unsuspecting nature of many players makes them easy targets. The lure of free Robux or in-game items is powerful, but players need to be educated about the real risks associated with these scams.
One key takeaway is never to trust links promising free rewards, especially when they demand your login details.
