Hello everyone, good morning and welcome to Racing Saturday! I’m Trace Fortuna, the half-qual variety streamer, and today we're diving deep into Wipeout HD Fury. This is the final part of the campaign mode. Our journey includes navigating through various high-octane challenges and futuristic race modes that will keep us on the edge of our seats.
Our journey starts with various race types including Detonator and Eliminator events. These modes test both our racing prowess and our strategic weapon usage. We kick off things with Eliminator mode and quickly face the intense velocity of Wipeout’s fast-paced gaming environment.
We encounter some shaky starts but manage to recalibrate our strategies and fire up our engines to move forward. We tackle speed laps, single races, and even Detonator at challenging tracks like Modesto Heights and Talons Junction. It takes some adjusting and remembering the muscle memory, but we catch up with the competition.
Zone battles at more technical tracks demand precise handling and quick reflexes. We navigate through the colorful and futuristic zones, ensuring we hit speed pads and avoid barriers. Each victory in this mode boosts our confidence as we plow through the competition.
The difficulty spikes with Phantom Eliminator events. High speeds make it necessary to hit every weapon pad we can and leverage RNG for picking up potent weapons like Quakes and Leech Beams. A grueling eliminator event on tech De Ra Reverse forces us to replay several times before we finally bag the gold medal.
One of the highlights is an eight-race tournament that spans multiple iconic tracks in both normal and reverse modes. Each track presents unique challenges, from pinballing off the walls to nailing perfect barrel rolls mid-air. Thanks to automated assists where available and judicious weapon usage, we manage to stay ahead of the pack more often than not.
Even with victories, we return to some races as they pose significant challenges. For instance, getting to grips with the Eliminator event on Techa Da Reverse required multiple attempts due to intense competition. Persistence and strategy win out in the end, allowing us to progress further.
Though we made significant headway, a number of races and tournaments remain, looming as final guardians to the campaign mode’s end. Focused strides, keen reflexes, and strategic thinking will be our arsenal as we gear up for concluding the campaign in the next session.
